This blog is turning into a collection of hot pictures of Kenna. This is unsurprising, as I've been recording and performing her jazz cabaret-pop, most recently at the Calgary Folk Music Festival. The picture was taken backstage before our last workshop on Sunday afternoon.
I am often asked how workshops "work". Do the artists prepare beforehand? How do the musicians know what to play? In most cases, the "host" artist sets the tone for how the workshop will proceed and many musicians at Folkfest can pick up a tune by ear.
In the artists' lounge, my friend Rosemary tried to adorn Kenna with a flower wreath but she refused. I offered my head and wore it to Chad VanGaalen.
![]() Of course, Jenn of Devonian Gardens had to try it on too. Mike did not want to. However, he willingly roadied my gear all weekend and kept me in line. All limbs and senses successfully preserved, we'll be working on my solo album through September and August. Until more news, Foon |
