This blog is turning into a collection of hot pictures of Kenna. This is unsurprising, as I've been recording and performing her jazz cabaret-pop, most recently at the Calgary Folk Music Festival. The picture was taken backstage before our last workshop on Sunday afternoon.
Kenna Burima Album Release: Songs about the Apocalypse, Recurring Nightmares, Death and Dogs4/11/2014
I'm thrilled to announce the album release of my dear friend, Kenna Burima. Join us at The Ironwood to experience her vampy "chamber pop cabaret." I had the honour of recording on her album and will back her up tonight with lush strings and velvet callbacks. False eyelashes included.
Shop: Bandcamp I recently recorded on Kenna Burima's upcoming full-length, a moody soul misadventure slinging du-wop, virtuosic piano, and dystopian rock. Some of you may know Kenna as the mastermind behind the End of The World Music Festival, but I know her as my bandmate in Woodpigeon, and frequent collaborator; Notably, she sang backup vocals on FOONYAP and The Roar.
